Challenge

We were approached by a high volume waste and recycling specialist in Plymouth. They were using an average of approximately 30 Operatives a day but this could flex up to 30% on a weekly basis. They were having issues with attendance, staff turnover, incorrect PPE and felt they were being charged over the market rate.

Solution

We took over the contract in 2012 and made correct PPE a priority working closely together to produce High Visibility Vests with both companies logo’s printed on the back and maintain a stockpile of both High Visibility Vests and safety boots on site.

Result

We addressed and reduced staff turnovers by 70% this was due to our in depth interview process and background checks for each candidate placed.

We resolved was attendance by implementing a checking-in procedure before and after each shift and return to work interviews for any unauthorised absences. This in turn reduced unauthorised absences by 82%.

Lastly we conduct staff surgeries on site every Friday where we supply each worker with a hard copy of their payslip and discuss any issues they may have which has increased worker moral dramatically.
